The Last S.T.A.N.D

You are one of the safe-keepers of the sacred and ancient advanced knowledge and a guardian of the lands of Inyxia, home to a global society that has existed for thousands of ages where it developed to the point where all individuals reached a state of enlightenment and have learned to live in harmony and balance with both technology and nature making them appear as an agrarian civilization, even though they are actually hyper-advanced and have simply learned not to be solely reliant on their technology to live and exist.

Even though they have grown rather complacent in their peaceful existence, the knowledge of science and their technology was kept alive, with the wisdom of what reliance on technology could actually lead to. Part of this knowledge is acceptance of the existence of forces, powers and principalities beyond corporeal understanding, energetic forces that have will and intelligence and that have the means to manifest themselves into all of reality.

It is because of these forces that the Safe-keepers of Inyxia exist in the first place, and why they are taught how to defend their lands and reality itself with ancient hyper-tech provided by their ancestors for when the ethereal scourge, that they were warned about, inevitably returns to reality to conquer all of the lands and all life within it in order to properly materialize themselves into existence.

The answer to this threat would take the form of what was to be called The Strategic Trans-Dimentional Artificially Networked Defence (S.T.A.N.D) system, with multiple tower nodes spread throughout the Inyxian empire, each one capable of repelling other worldly attacks across the entire world, in case all others fell during an invasion.

Which they did. All of your brothers and sisters of the guard in the other regions of the empire have unfortunately fallen to the latest incursion from the realm of timelessness, which had started abruptly one day after thousands of years of peace, destroying all of the S.T.A.N.D units, all except one. 

It is your sacred and sworn duty to defend the lands of Inyxia, and activate the last surviving S.T.A.N.D tower, by completing the trails left by the ancients for the future safe-keepers to complete, to save existence itself.
